Woodland Workshops Report 2011. Working with two local primary schools we ran workshops with local craftspeople using natural materials found in the woods or ground. These were interspersed with woodland activities. The end result was a ‘Forest Fair’. This was a chance to bring the community to the woods, play games, serve teas from the fire and sell the produce made by the children to raise funds for future Forest Education and establishing their own woodland. The only change to the original plan was that the schools choice to work independently rather than together. The pupils from each school had a real fondness for their own woodland and wanted to build on skills already learnt. I was pleasantly surprised by the knowledge from the school I had worked with before compared to the other.
