This launched forest schools in Dumfries and Galloway and involved over 260 people from the age of 2 to 79 years old and the use of three different forest school sites.
With the help of the FEI Partnership Fund, the Scottish Community Trust and the Carbon Foundation a forest school was launched for a nursery in the village of Gatehouse, and immediately afterwards using the same spot a small forest school was run for families in the same village.
In addition another site on forestry commission land was established as the base for a forest school for Dalbeattie Primary and P3 children introduced to the site and to a range of woodland activities.
50 students of childcare were given a short introduction to forest school and 15 of them had a full day in the woods with two trained leaders trying out a variety of activities and games.
The project subsidised two individuals for their level 2 forest school leader training and another in level 3 bushcraft.
