Special Play Project 2021

In 2021, West Fife OWL was successful in applying for a grant to run a Special Play Project.

The ideas for the play sessions came about when another programme Tots In Trees had to change the way it was run due to COVID restrictions. COVID restrictions meant that 6-8 year olds were now omitted from Tots In Trees and we wanted to fill that void. That project used to cater for up to 8 year olds but under COVID restrictions the group had to be capped at 5 year olds. WF OWLS felt that 6 years old and above were getting left out and therefore put together 5 play sessions for the 6-8 year olds.

When the opportunity to bid for some money through the OWLS came up, WF OWLS decided to use the money to organise children’s play sessions targeting P2 to P4 children.

Networking Event November 2023

Networking Event November 2023

The group held a very successful twilight Networking Event in early November at Bellyeoman Primary School in Dunfermline. Participants were able to choose from four different workshops: music; whittling; gardening and literacy & numeracy. There were also a selection of information stalls in the main hall including Kingdom of Fife Orienteers, Active Schools, Forest School Training Company, Fife Coast and Countryside, OWL Scotland and many more. The event was well attended, feedback was very positive and we hope to hold another event in 2024.
